The Valhalla Norsemen upset the Coronado Islanders in the quarterfinals of the San Diego CIF Division III boys volleyball playoffs last Friday.
The seventh-seeded Norsemen needed only four games to dispatch the host Islanders, who were seeded second.
In fact, Coronado surged with a 25-12 opening game win, setting the stage for Valhalla’s ensuing sweep, 25-18, 25-20, 25-22.
