USD had a very bad first half against San Francisco. USD had a tremendous second half against USF.
So good, in fact, it was enough to overcome a 14-point deficit and pull away for a 67-63 win on Saturday night at Jenny Craig Pavilion.
The Toreros shot a blistering 62 percent from the field in the second half against a Dons team that came in with a 17-4 record.
Senior forward Isaiah Pineiro led the way with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Isaiah Wright was right behind him with 17 points.
USD is 14-7 and 4-3 in the West Coast Conference. They get a full week to prepare for their next game and they’re going to need it.
The Toreros head to Spokane, Wash. on Saturday to face the fourth-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs.
