Threats Scrawled on Bathrooms at 2 Vista High Schools: SDSO

Security presence will be increased at two Vista high schools after threatening messages were scrawled on bathrooms at both schools, the San Diego Sheriff’s Department said.

SDSO was first alerted to a message left on the men’s bathroom at Vista High School on Thursday. The same day, a message was found at Rancho Buena Vista High School, SDSO said.

Both schools are in the same city and within the Vista Unified School District (VUSD). The campuses are about five miles apart.

SDSO said the threats don’t appear to be credible or related but the agency along with VUSD will continue to investigate.

“All threats are taken seriously and those found responsible will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” SDSO said in a statement.

The department will increase law enforcement presence on both campuses Friday.
