SigAlert Issued After Deadly Pedestrian Crash on I-805

A pedestrian was killed on a freeway in Kearny Mesa early Tuesday.A car heading northbound on Interstate 805 struck the pedestrian near the Kearny Villa Road/Mesa College Drive offramp, just before the State Route 163 merger, at about 4:30 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol (CHP). It was not clear how long the roadway would remain closed. Traffic began to build as far as I-8 at about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday as commuters made their way to work.
