Pedestrian, 90, Hit and Killed by Cars in Chula Vista

A 90-year-old Chula Vista resident walking at an intersection near his home was killed Friday after being hit by two cars and getting trapped underneath one of the vehicles.The deadly accident happened just after 6 p.m. at the intersection of East H Street and Buena Vista Way near Southwestern College, according to the Chula Vista Police Department (CVPD). Kings and Queens Crowned at Prom for Special Needs Community Police said the elderly man, who lived nearby, was crossing the street against the light when he was hit by a car traveling eastbound on East H Street. The pedestrian was then struck by second car and pinned underneath that vehicle.The CVPD said the victim suffered critical injuries and died at the scene. Both driver stayed put and cooperated with investigators. Judge to Rule on Potential Wall-Blocking Lawsuit Next Week Traffic at the intersection was blocked for several hours following the collision.The name of the victim has not yet been released.
