Armed Suspect Robs Southcrest Chevron Station

Police are searching for a man who robbed of Chevron Station in Southcrest of an undetermined amount of cash and cigarettes early Saturday morning around 4:32 a.m., the San Diego Police Department confirmed.

A 35 to 40-year-old suspect started tampering with cleaning supplies in the cashier booth at the station in the 3500 block of National Avenue. When the cashier approached the suspect, the suspect took out a semi-automatic handgun and demanded cash. The attendant gave him cash from the register and the suspect grabbed some cigarettes.

He left going west on National Avenue and north on 35th Street.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as about 5-foot 6 and 150 to 170 pounds. He was wearing a brown hoodie and blues jeans. The attendant said he only spoke Spanish.

San Diego Police Department Robbery Division responded and is investigating the incident.
