4 Adults, 2 Children Injured After Airborne Car Lands on Van

Six people, including two small children, were injured Friday when a car crashed into a center divide in University City, became airborne and landed on top of a minivan. A 15-year-old girl was driving a silver sedan westbound on Miramar Road when for unknown reasons the car veered to the left and struck the center divide just before 6:30 p.m., San Diego Police Department (SDPD) Sgt. Ed Zwibel said. The car went airborne over the median and landed atop a minivan carrying four people, including two young children, in eastbound lanes.  Raging Fire Rips Through RV, Home in Oak Park One person was ejected from the vehicle, a witness told NBC 7. The witness, who was behind the minivan when the crash occurred, told NBC 7 he pulled the two children out of the van’s back seat but was unable to help their parents, who had to be freed by emergency responders. Man Allegedly Kills Girlfriend and Aunt, Then Himself The crash resulted in life-threatening injuries for the driver of the minivan and a passenger inside the silver sedan, and broken bones for the teenage driver of the silver car and the passenger of the minivan. The two children were treated for minor car seat injuries.  Things to Do This Weekend: Feb. 1-4 The force of the crash sent car parts and debris flying. An entire engine block separated from one of the cars and landed across the street. The witness told NBC 7 a car speaker became stuck under his car. A cause of the crash has not yet been determined. Police do not believe that alcohol or drugs were factors. SDPD traffic division is investigating the incident and will determine if criminal charges will be filed. Photo Credit: NBC 7
