Resident Reports Possible Left-Turn Signal Issue at Murray and Grossmont Center

Community traffic alert — November 6, 2026. LaMesa.com received a voicemail from a resident reporting a possible left-turn signal timing problem at Murray Drive and Grossmont Center Drive in La Mesa.

What the resident reported

The caller said they were traveling westbound on Murray Drive and waiting to turn left. According to the caller, the left-turn phase appeared to allow only about four vehicles per signal cycle. They reported waiting through four cycles and seeing other drivers proceed through a red light.

The caller expressed concern that the backup and drivers’ reactions could create a safety hazard, including for emergency responders trying to navigate the area.

“It’s only letting four cars make a left-hand turn at a time. We sat through four cycles … people are running the red light.”
