A malfunction in San Diego Gas and Electric’s (SDG&E) underground utility vault caused power outages in the North Park area 12 p.m. Monday.
The Naval Medical Center San Diego, referred to as Balboa Hospital, was without power and ran on its back-up system.
More than 3,000 customers lost power, according to SDG&E representative Joe Britton.
SDG&E confirmed all power was restored by 1:30 p.m.
SDG&E is still investigating the cause of the malfunction.
