Firefighters were called to the area near North Ponto Beach in Carlsbad Wednesday for a cliff rescue.

A minor suffered some sort of medical emergency and fell about 25 feet off a cliff just after 11 a.m., prompting a response from three agencies, Carlsbad Fire Department (CFD) Chief Mike Lopez said.

Newschopper 7 captured rescue crews strap the person into a stretcher near the South Carlsbad State Beach Campground and carry the patient up the cliff to an ambulance.

Lopez said the minor was transported to a nearby hospital with what was initially determined to be minor injuries.
