EL CAJON

El Cajon July 4th San Diego Fireworks and Celebration 2021

Fireworks are launching from Granite Hills High School at 9 p.m., in conjunction with music from Star 94.1 FM. Kennedy Park is open normal hours until after pyrotechnics. There will be no vendors or bands at this year’s event. Arrive early to claim your spot in the park. Kennedy Park is  at 1675 E Madison Ave. in El Cajon. SANTEE

4th of July Santee Salutes

Santee’s Independence Day celebration is an afternoon affair starting at 2 p.m. when the parking lot to Town Center Community Park opens (Advanced parking purchase required. Purchase parking at https://city-of-santee-events.square.site/shop/7 ). The rest of the schedule is as follows:

4 p.m. – Food vendors and  Riverwalk Grill open

6 p.m. – Patriotic Ceremony

6:30 p.m. – 80z All Stars Concert

9 p.m. – Dual fireworks display sponsored by Waste Management.

Fireworks will be launched from Town Center Community Park and West Hills Park.  Town Center Community Park East is at 550 Park Center Drive in Santee.

LAKESIDE

Lakeside parade

Lakeside is hosting a drive-thru parade along Main Avenue beginning at 11:30 a.m. July 4. Those who wish to participate in the parade are asked to decorate their car and meet at the rodeo grounds at 10:30 a.m.

JULIAN

Julian Fourth of July Parade

This year Julian salutes July Fourth with the theme, “Julian 150 Years+1.” Julian honors the nation’s birthday with a salute to the men and women who made the country great, both domestically and militarily.

The annual event has people lined up at on the town’s main street to wave their flags, cheer the marching bands, salute the Marine Color Guard, and carry a giant American Flag down the thoroughfare. This recognized dignitary for 2020-22 is Marion Moore. Pre-parade activities begin at 10 a.m. with the parade at noon.

ALPINE

Shadow Mountain Alpine

A July 4 celebration featuring patriotic music and an encouraging message is scheduled for 10 a.m.  Independence Day. A food truck will be at the event, 3520 Alpine Blvd.

SAN DIEGO

Big Bay Boom

The county’s—and possibly the state’s— largest fireworks display returns July 4. Big Bay Boom features one massive fireworks display with pyrotechnics being deployed from four barges on San Diego Bay. Radio station 101 KGB FM simulcasts with the fireworks. Viewing areas include Shelter Island, Harbor Island, North Embarcadero, Marina District, Coronado ferry landing and anywhere on the water. CHULA VISTA

South Bay Pioneers Independence Day BBQ

South Bay Pioneers is hosting a July 4 celebration with food, fun and fellowship. There will be a barbecue, music, games, a bake sale and more.  The event is from 11 a.m. to  3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online, or from a Women’s Auxiliary member. Cost is $10 and includes a burger, a hot dog, a cold soda or water, and a side of beans and coleslaw. Children age 12 and under get a hot dog plate with sides and a drink for $5.  Online ticket sales will end at Midnight Friday, July 2. Tickets can be purchased at:
