Homicide detectives were called Saturday to a downtown San Diego condominium to help police determine how a woman died.

A 911 caller reported the woman was found not breathing in her home on Front Street, two blocks from Horton Plaza mall, San Diego Police Department (SDPD) Lt. Matt Dobbs said.

Medics attempted to revive the woman but she was pronounced dead at about 2:40 p.m.

Dobbs said homicide detectives were called because they could not explain the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death. Homicide detectives were investigating the death as suspicious.

The woman has been identified but her name was being withheld until family could be notified.
