Did you you know there is a leadership program in East County?

Leadership East County is an 11-month program facilitated by the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce. The program is in its 28th year and will start again on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019.

If you work or live in East County and want to gain leadership knowledge and a new perspective of East County, you will want to be a part of this program. Each cohort consists of business owners, managers, and executives from all over San Diego County.  Many alumni have created lasting friendships and business relationships.

Sessions are scheduled on the 2nd Friday of each month from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., from August to June, the January session consists of a day and a half retreat. The retreat consists of dinner, team building and planning for the final class presentation – “Futures Project.”  The scheduled dates have been adjusted in event of a holiday falling on that Friday. 

Each month a different topic will be discussed at a participating east county place of business; for example, Justice Day consists of an educational backdoor tour of the El Cajon Courthouse and a tour of Las Colinas Women’s Detention Facility.

Tuition for Leadership East County is $900, which includes all meals, graduation ceremony and the retreat.

Applications are located on www.eastcountychamber.org, under Leadership. Once you have completed your application, please submit to SteveL@eastcountychamber.org. An interview will then be scheduled to meet with the Leadership Steering Committee.  The intent of the interview is to get acquainted, to discuss the intent of the program, to answer questions about the 11-month schedule.
